We live in Vermont and live at the top of a hill with a 1/3 mile very steep driveway. I plow with a Fisher Homesteader plow on a Wrangler Unlimited. Admittely this is a light weight setup and on more than one occasion I have found myself puckered up sliding backwards down the hill on my return to the top after my first run plowing down. Thankfully the snowbank or shallow ditch has always stopped my slide. So far I have had to plow during 4 stoms this winter. The chains go on super easy and give great traction. The driveway is pavement for the top 100 yards or so and hard pack for the rest. The trickest part is getting them off. The chain releases have to be positioned just right. After the first removal I have used a pump jack to life the wheel about an inch and now it takes less than 30 seconds to get them off. Full disclosure, I only live about 2 miles from my office and have used them only once to commute. I would not recommend them for a drive any longer than that unless on snowy backroads.

I was looking for a small, portable air pump for my e-bike. I have a larger pump that I use for my car but it requires plugging into the car, dragging the hose to the tire, and running the engine, and half the time it doesn’t work, anyway. But there seem to be so many choices right now for air compressors that can live on a bike, including some that are heavily advertised but seem to be too good to be true. A couple of people on an e-bike forum I frequent suggested this product. They said it “works like a charm.” The price dropped for Black Friday, so I took a chance. I just topped off my e-bike tires, and each one took less than 30 seconds. For kicks and giggles, I went over to my car, and while, naturally, it took a little longer, all four tires are now nicely topped off. And no misreading the pressure and popping the valve off like my existing air pump so often does. The battery dropped from four bars to three, so I’m recharging using the included USB cable. If I had any wishes, it would for a longer charging cable. I might have to buy a second pump to keep in the car!
