- My wife has been wanting a Sonic ice machine for years. Some of the earlier ones we saw were quite large and expensive, so we didn't actively pursue getting one. But, now that these units can easily fit on your counter top underneath your upper cabinets, we bit the bullet and ordered one for ourselves. We love it and ese it 5-8 times every day. We fill it with filtered water and the taste is awesome. Caveat #1 - The set-up takes some careful reading to make sure the unit is completely flushed-out. Caveat #2 - We live in an area with frequent (sometimes daily) power outages, so when this happens our machine will automatically turn off and the ice will melt. This is not a problem for us because the machine is designed with an internal reservoir that accumulates all the water from the melted ice and simply reuses it to creates the next batch. So, if you have a power blip and find that your ice machine has turned itself off, simply turn it back on and you'll have more fresh ice within 15-30 minutes. Suggestion for Improvement #1 - All of the control buttons are located behind a shiny black glass front panel. So, to start the unit or turn on the interior ice bin light, you need to turn on your room light to be able to see the switches. If the switches had internal LED indicator lights, you would easily see which switch to push.

- Love it! I am going to address the noise first. So it is silent -when the ice container is full. When you remove ice from the ice bin it will make ice again until full so there is a small noise maybe like a small dishwasher sound to me. Infact my husband never noticed it until I pointed it out to him🤣. We have had it two days and it is wonderful. Our son had this one and we all used it at a family get together. So I wanted one and it's just 2 of us so it should do Amazing. Highly Recommend if you love this kind of ice- we call it Sonic Ice as we have Sonic's that use this ice in their drinks. - My most favorite ice machine! The very small nuggets of ice has saved me so much money by not going to the local coffee/tea house for my ice teas! The ice makes the drink! The machine works very well. I use filtered water to fill up the extra reservoir I purchased. It is so much better than other ice machines I have used! I have had no issues with noise and cleaning it is rather easy. I keep it on a cart with wheels so I can drain into easily into the sink when cleaning.
