Midea 7.0 Cubic Feet Chest Freezer - White, Energy Efficient

We wanted a deep freezer to save money by buying meat and other food items that could be stored frozen in bulk. Our indoor refrigerator has a very small freezer, and we couldn't store enough frozen goods for our family of seven forcing us to make several trips to the store per week. This freezer is the perfect size for us (we got the 7.0 cubic foot model). It is so quiet I can barely hear it running even when I am standing right next to it, and the lid stays open by itself. We live in Louisiana and keep the freezer in our un-airconditioned garage. It doesn't take up much space and has had no problems keeping the same temp on the inside even when the temp outside is in the high 90's. The energy cost per year is only around 35.00. Now we don't have to worry if we have enough freezer space when we go shopping. We can take advantage of bulk meat specials and stock up on frozen fruits and vegetables. This will save us money in the long run so the freezer will eventually pay for itself. So far, we are very satisfied with our purchase.

Runs great and pretty well made for $229… But just like most reviews there was some cosmetic damage. It seams that the items are being dropped or set roughly as the bottom corners were wrinkled on one side. I used a rubber mallet to smooth some of it out, but you can still see some kinks on it. It was for the garage, so it really didn’t matter as long as the door seals well and it works well. I wouldn’t recommend for somewhere that is on display. The risk of damage is too great. It is really quiet and cooled rapidly.

We bought this as an affordable way for just a bit more freezer space. It was easy to get out of the box and setup (lightweight and box was built to come apart) - minus the plus for it getting trapped inside, for which we had to open a side vent to get it unstuck. But the freezer itself works wonderfully and has more space and it seemed like there would be. The little basket included it Great. We've had it for around 3 weeks - no issues so far!
